Warhammer Quest Part 4: Knight Questor

Thought I might get away without painting the freehand details on his cloak but its obvious now I didn't as it looks quite bare. I really want to move onto something else at this stage so I'm leaving him like this for the moment.

Warhammer Quest: Knight Questor WIP pt1

I was hoping to get some Retributor Armour to paint the Knight Questor but the local had none in stock so I've tried out a mix of Gehenna's Gold and Auric Armour Gold instead. I'm not use to painting miniatures unassembled like this but did so because of a few areas that would be otherwise difficult to reach or inaccessible, namely the inside of the cloak, scrolls and the back of the shield.

For the base coat I mixed some Gehenna's Gold and Auric Armour Gold. about 30:70 ratio, 20:80 even...a lot of Auric Armour!.
Apply Ogryn Flesh Wash.
Apply the original mix of Gehenna's Gold and Auric Armour Gold.
Working towards highlights progressively add more Auric Armour Gold to the mix.
Start adding Runefang Steel to the mix.

Add more RuneFang Steel to the mix and work towards a mix that's more RuneFang than gold.
Apply a little watered down Brown Ink on recess areas. Ogryn Flesh Wash might also do.
A single coat of Fenris Grey was painted on the blue parts just to see what they'd look like and that's about as far as I got today. I wont be painting the rest of the blue just yet as I want to finish the difficult to reach parts (cloak, scrolls, shield) before putting him together and then working on the blue.

Warhammer Quest pt3: Brimstone Horrors

This is the third paint scheme I applied to the Brimstone Horrors. I messed up the first attempt when highlighting the fire with darker colours and then managed to make them look even worse with the second attempt. I got demoralized but was determined to finish them by the week end to have all the Horrors from the set complete.
The Knight Questor is up next for painting but I'm waiting on some paints before I can get started. Hopefully I'll have them before mid week, if not I'll have to crack on without. 'till then.

Colours Used: Troll Slayer Orange, Baal Red, Mephiston Red, Dorn Yellow, Scar White, Lothern Blue, Warboss Green, Warpstone Glow, Steel Legion Drab, Tallarn Sand and Ushabti Bone.

Warhammer Quest Silver Tower: Exotic Enemies pt1

Blessings of Chaos arrived last week in the form of a Burning Chariot of Tzeentch and the Lord of Plagues. I did'nt assemble the Burning Chariot (as nice as it is) but instead made some exotic enemies for Silver Tower in the form of a Herald of Tzeentch, Exalted Flamer and two Screamers. Lots of cool stuff in this kit...

Some small modifications were made to the Screamers and Exalted Flamer who along with the Herald are ready to be undercoated for painting. I'm also tinkering with a Herald conversion and preparing the Knight Questor for painting after I paint the Brimestone Horrors, which should be in the next post. Until then.
